In the past, this benefit was equivalent to the FGTS. Therefore, over time, this amount was transferred to the Severance Indemnity Fund.

However, currently, the PIS/PASEP has been allocated to another benefit: the salary bonus.

With that in mind, in today's article we'll show you how enrollment in this program works. Check out!

How to register for PIS/PASEP?

First, to receive the PIS/PASEP, you must be registered.

However, unlike what many people think, this registration is done by the employer himself. Therefore, in order to receive the salary allowance, certain criteria must be met. Look:

  • Register with PIS/PASEP for at least 5 years;
  • Receive an average remuneration of up to two minimum wages;
  • In the base year, he must have worked 30 days for a legal entity;
  • Be registered in the Annual List of Social Information or in eSocial.

In this sense, virtually all criteria do not depend on the employee. For example, registration on eSocial is the responsibility of the employer.

By the way, registration must be made directly at the time of hiring.

How to receive the benefit?

In short, to receive the PIS/PASEP benefit, you must follow the above criteria. That way, if you've already made sure of the criteria and want to consult the benefit, there are some ways.

Firstly, in the case of PIS, just access the Caixa TEM or Caixa Trabalhador application. In addition, the Ministry of Labor also performs this function.

That is, just get in touch by calling 158. Finally, the PIS can also be consulted in the work permit application.

Secondly, for those who receive the PASEP, the consultation is made with Banco do Brasil. That is, the bank makes the Consult my PASEP website available.

In addition, if you prefer, you can also make contact by phone. See the numbers:

Therefore, those linked to PIS receive it through Caixa Econômica Federal. Those who work for public bodies receive the PASEP through Banco do Brasil.

Therefore, see the ways to withdraw the benefit from Caixa Econômica Federal:

  • Withdrawal from the Caixa account for account holders;
  • Sacar no Caixa Tem with the account created automatically;

For those who receive the PASEP, the process must be done with Banco do Brasil.

For those who want to transfer the amount to another bank, just do a TED. In addition, anyone wishing to withdraw the money must appear in person at a Banco do Brasil branch.
