The BPC, acronym for Benefit of Continued Provision, is a government program that guarantees a fixed monthly income for the elderly and people with disabilities.

In this sense, the benefit exists through the LOAS, or Organic Law of Social Assistance. From it, beneficiaries get access to a minimum wage per month

To receive the aid, it is necessary to comply with some rules. For example, the beneficiary must have an up-to-date registration with CadÚnico and prove low income.

Do you want to know more details about how to request your inclusion in the BPC? So check out the content below and we'll show you how to do it.

What is the value of BPC?

Well, the BPC aims to provide income for people who are unable to work. Either because of age, or because of some disabling disability.

Therefore, it is especially for low-income Brazilians. So, the Federal Government offers beneficiaries a monthly minimum wage; or R$1,320.00.

Furthermore, it is important to point out that it is possible to receive the BPC even without having contributed to the INSS. However, the benefit does not entitle to the 13th salary or death pension.

What do I need to apply for BPC?

Mas então, quais os documentos você precisa para dar entrada no BPC? Fonte: Canva.
But then, what documents do you need to enter the BPC? Source: Canva.

To enter the BPC, it is necessary to meet some mandatory basic requirements, such as:

  • Be aged 65 or over or have a long-term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory disability;
  • Have a minimum income per person in the family group equal to or less than ¼ of the current minimum wage;
  • Have an active registration in the Single Registry.

By fulfilling these requirements, it is already possible to start the process of requesting the benefit. But for that, the person must schedule a visit to the nearest INSS to send the documents for analysis.

To schedule your order, you can use the “My INSS” application. It is also possible to make an appointment through the Previdência website or by telephone at number 135.

With the appointment made, it is necessary to go to the INSS agency on the scheduled date. It is also important to bring all required documents. Among them:

  • CPF and RG;
  • Proof of address;
  • Proof of income;
  • Document identifying the people in the family group (RG, CPF, birth/marriage certificate).

In the case of requests by people with disabilities, it is also necessary to bring documents that prove the condition. The INSS must also schedule a medical examination for evaluation.

How do I receive the continuous benefit benefit?

After applying for the Continued Benefit, you will receive a letter from the INSS at your home. So, it is from there that you will know if your request was approved or not.

If so, the benefit money is available for withdrawal within 45 days. In addition, the beneficiary also receives a magnetic card for withdrawals and to use in debit mode.

However, if you are not entitled to BPC, but are part of the country's low-income population, there is another benefit that can help you.

Bolsa Família is a government social program that has already transformed the lives of millions of Brazilians. With it, you earn R$600 or more per month and have the opportunity to earn a better life.
