The motorcycle was literally the basis for the development of the first generations of motorcycles produced here.
The motorcycle had unique characteristics such as the Torque Induction system that helped maintain the internal pressure in the cylinder so that the explosion occurred with less backflow of mixture, which increased the engine's performance and improved gasoline burning.
The performance and noise of this two-stroke makes many people miss it.
9. 1976 Honda CG 125
The CG was certainly the first bike that many Brazilians rode. What few people know is that she, like the Volkswagen Gol, is over 40 years old.
The small motorcycle was developed in 1976 especially for the Brazilian market, taking into account the needs and economic power of the time and was a more than accurate shot by the Japanese automaker.
The 1976 Honda CG 125 was robust and that alone was more than enough to draw attention.
Its engine took the brunt when it was pushed beyond its capabilities. The exchange had 4 gears that, without being rotating, pointed only downwards and the return to neutral was done only in the opposite direction upwards.
It was quickly dubbed the two-wheeled beetle due to its popularity, low cost and the confidence it passed on to pilots. Without a doubt one of the bikes that made history in Brazil.
8. Vespa PX 200E 1986
The Vespa PX 200E attracted attention when it was launched in 1986 due to its displacement.
In tests carried out by the automaker itself, the “scooter” managed to overcome the 100 km/h mark, something unimaginable for the time. Which caught the attention of many people.
The bike maintained the tradition of previous models with a 4-speed gearbox engaged when turning the left handle.
At the plump rear end caps covered the left-hand spare tire while the two-stroke engine sat to the right of the wheel. The bike was a real sales success in the year of its launch.
Nowadays, flying one of these is like going back in time and smelling diesel oil because of the “on-board technology”.
7. Yamaha DT 180 1981
It was DT that taught Brazilians to walk in the middle of the bush and not just that. It also showed how versatile a motorcycle can be off the asphalt!
The 1981 Yamaha DT 180 is a real white fly these days and is recognized for a unique feature: The scale with rear suspension made with a circular tube section and not rectangular like the DT 180 released after it.

According to the automaker, this engine was elected by all subsidiaries as the most compact, resistant and economical engine in the world.
A few years after the launch, many motoboys went viral by showing the odometers of their YBR that had already run more than 100,000 kilometers. Without a doubt, it is one of the bikes that made history in Brazil.

The first Brazilian motorcycle made in Japan was the 1980 CB 400, which came dismantled from the eastern country and was assembled in Manaus.
The motorcycle arrived on the market at a somewhat peculiar time when the importation of motorcycles was still prohibited. This only made the thirst for big bikes grow considerably.
The assembly solution in Manaus alleviated this shortage and made the bike an almost immediate success. A year later, a more luxurious version called the CB 400 II would appear.

This milder behavior was the gateway for many other motorcycles to be produced here!
1. Suzuki Burgman AN 125 2005
Launched in 2005, the Suzuki Burgman AN 125 scooter was a true pioneer of this motorcycle segment in Brazil and for a long time led as the best-selling example among the others.
Dubbed the burgminha, the scooter helped give birth to a legion of scooters in the country, such as the Yamaha Neo, the Honda PCX and the Honda Elite.
Renovated in 2011 and renamed Burgman i, the model was discontinued due to the incompatibility of the new ABS and CBS brake system, which are mandatory for all brand new motorcycles produced or imported here.
