12. Liechtenstein

Like San Marino, another tiny (although almost three times the size) and rarely visited country is Liechtenstein. Known for its medieval castles, alpine landscapes and villages connected by a network of hiking trails, the German-speaking principality is a very rich and productive.

Despite its small size, the maxim “size doesn’t matter” applies perfectly to Liechtenstein. In addition to producing excellent wines and cheeses, the country has landscapes that look like they’ve come straight out of a movie. Therefore, since a day trip to its capital, the city of Vaduz, is extremely easy for those in Austria and Switzerland, it’s worth including Liechtenstein in your Euro trip. You certainly won’t regret making this choice.

11. Sao Tome and Principe

One of the few Portuguese-speaking countries in the world, São Tomé and Príncipe is an African island country located in the Gulf of Guinea, close to the equator. Considered by many a tropical paradise, the archipelago not only has beautiful beaches with turquoise water, but also volcanic regions and dense forests that cover the Pico de São Tomé, which is over 2,000 meters high. It is a shame that São Tomé and Príncipe is one of the least visited places in the world, as its natural beauty should be known to as many people as possible.
