15. It has its own time zone
Since 2015, the North Korea now has its own time zone, the so-called Pyongyang Time (in Portuguese Pyongyang Time), which takes its name from the North Korean capital. It currently clocks a time that is 30 minutes behind South Korea and Japan.
The new time zone came into effect on August 15, 2015, the date celebrating the 70th anniversary of Korean liberation from Japanese rule at the end of World War II. An interesting detail of facts about North Korea that you didn't know is that Pyongyang Time was already used before Japanese rule. So, nothing fairer than going back to what it was, right?
