The secret behind Tesla cars

Perhaps you haven't heard of this car manufacturer whose innovations are aimed at accelerating and innovating the market for vehicles that do not emit pollutants. This is Tesla Motors, a company specializing in electric-powered cars.
Created in 2003 with the mission of accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy, it launched its first vehicle in 2008, the Tesla Roadster. Capable of going from 0 to 100 in 3.7 seconds, the vehicle powered by an electric motor and powered by a lithium-ion battery started the automaker's path of innovation. As a model intended for the few, the Roadster was the beginning of this daring mission.
Clean tech and more!
Currently, the model that symbolizes the brand's technological innovation is the Model S, a sedan created to compete in the premium segment. Even belonging to a segment where comfort is privileged, it does not leave sportiness behind. Capable of sprinting from standstill to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, it is considered the third fastest accelerating production car in history.
One benefit of electric motors is that, unlike combustion engines, they do not need transmission systems and are able to deliver their maximum torque in extremely short periods of time. The Model S features two engine configurations: with one engine per axle, delivering four-wheel drive, or with a single engine installed on the rear axle, leaving the vehicle with only rear-wheel drive. A great advantage of the arrangement of engines is the space for cargo. As the engines are coupled to the axles, it was possible to create two trunks, one front and one rear.
Having no transmission and no combustion engine, it is easy to imagine that Tesla models require much less maintenance. Can you imagine not having to change oil, spark plugs, timing belt and many other items that weigh in your pocket? Well, while you don't have a Tesla and need to take care of your car's maintenance, you can count on SOS Mecânico to find the best mechanic in your area.
To power these engines, Tesla offers batteries of up to 100 kWh, which have been produced with a flat design, under the floor of the car to lower the model's center of gravity. This guarantees the vehicle greater stability. Model S is also equipped with regenerative braking that uses some of the energy produced during braking to recharge the battery.
The autonomy is up to 613 km, making it the electric vehicle with the longest range in production. It is important to highlight that this has always been one of the great challenges for electric cars.
High technology is not only present in the car's propulsion system. Inside, the huge 17-inch screen stands out, which integrates almost all of the car's functions, such as opening the panoramic roof, controlling temperature, suspension height, controlling headlights, adjusting regenerative braking settings, among many other functions.
Not over yet
In addition to all the technologies discussed above, the Model S has an even more surprising one: completely autonomous driving. The car is capable of going from one location to another without driver intervention. The car can leave the garage automatically and wait for you at the door of the house, or when arriving somewhere, the driver can get out first and let the vehicle find a parking space. He is capable of driving himself within cities and roads, changing lanes when he deems necessary, just like a common driver.
The function can be activated through the key itself or through an application on the cell phone. For the vehicle to carry out these functions safely, 8 cameras are used around the car that have a view of up to 250 meters away, another 20 ultrasonic sensors complete the vehicle's vision system that operates in rain and fog.
Tesla has gone and will go further. Imagine if your car was almost like a computer, being possible to make updates to each improvement developed by the operating system supplier. At dawn and go to work you can find a new functionality and, the best, without paying anything and without going to a dealership. By the way, Tesla does not have dealerships but stores in the style of the Apple Store.
A futuristic vehicle that is already available on the market, but at a high cost due to its technology and innovation. In Brazil, the model costs from 745 thousand reais in its most basic version and it is worth mentioning that not all functions of autonomous driving are available in the country due to our legislation. But the dream of owning a vehicle that can be loaded in the garage at home may not be so far away. Elon Musk, founder of the company, confirmed the launch of the Tesla Model 3 for Brazil, the then entry-level car of the brand should cost around 130 thousand reais, according to Tesla.
