A net salary calculator can be very useful for anyone who needs to know the right salary amount. This is because the remuneration comes with several discounts and therefore the salary is not always the amount announced by the company.

For example, every salary has fees such as INSS deducted. This way, the initial value or gross salary decreases. In other words, it becomes the net salary, the amount you actually receive.

In today's article, we will introduce you to a net salary calculator. With it, you can calculate your salary in a simple and quick way. Check out!

How is net salary calculated?

In short, if you prefer, you can also calculate net salary manually. Therefore, there is some information necessary to be able to make the calculation. In fact, the most important of these is the value of the gross salary.

In this sense, from the gross salary you make deductions and arrive at the net salary. Therefore, now you need to find out what deductions are made monthly from your salary.

For example, INSS and Income Tax are some of the common discounts. In addition, some companies also deduct transportation vouchers, meal vouchers and health plans from their payroll.

Finally, to arrive at the correct calculation of net salary, you must also count additional payments. That's because it's not always just discounts. In other words, if you worked any overtime or if you had night shift pay.

With this information, you can arrive at your net salary. The good news is that there is a net salary calculator. Therefore, you just need to enter the values and you already know the value of the net salary.

What is the difference between gross salary and net salary?

In summary, the main difference between gross salary and net salary is deductions. In this sense, the gross salary is the amount you receive in the company's proposal, for example.

Net salary corresponds to what actually goes into your account. In other words, the salary you receive monthly from the company.

What are the deductions made from net salary?

As we have already mentioned, the net salary is the gross salary with deductions. Therefore, the official discounts are INSS and Income Tax. But there are some other deductions that may also appear in your net salary.

In this sense, in the case of INSS, the discount ranges from 8% to 11% of your gross salary. When we talk about Income Tax, it depends on the INSS. Therefore, you can discount between 7% and 27.5%.

In fact, it is worth saying that the FGTS is not deducted from the payroll. This is because the company itself pays the FGTS and not the employee. In other words, the amount may even be presented on the payroll, but it does not function as a deduction from the gross salary.

This way, see in detail all the deductions that are made to your salary:

INSS

Firstly, we can mention the INSS or social security contribution. As the name suggests, this discount corresponds to retirement and some other benefits. For example, the death pension and sickness benefit.

This way, when signing the work card, the worker will necessarily see these deductions on the payroll. In fact, after retirement, the INSS discount no longer exists, even if you still work.

Withholding income tax

In general, Income Tax Withheld at Source or IRRF is a percentage deducted from the gross salary. To find out how much will be deducted from your salary, there is a table. Well, the percentage varies according to the value of your salary.

See the table:

Up to R$ 1,903.98Free
R$ 1,903.99 and 2,826.657.5% and discount of R$142.80
R$ 2,826.66 to R$ 3,751.0515% and discount of R$354.80
R$ 3,751.06 to R$ 4,664.6822.5% and discount of R$636.13
Above R$ 4,664.6827.5% and discount of R$869.36

But remember that this amount of Income Tax can be recovered. According to the law, the employee can request a refund.

Other discounts

In addition to official discounts, there are some that are not mandatory. In other words, they are at the discretion of the company itself. Therefore, some companies decide to discount transport and meal vouchers.

Others provide these benefits without needing payroll deduction. Therefore, this information needs to be clear at the time of hiring. And even before any payroll deduction is made.

Payroll loan

Finally, we have the payroll loan discount. This depends on each person's financial reality. You may have already seen in other articles, the payroll loan has installments that are paid directly from your salary.

In other words, the discount is automatically made on the payroll. In this way, the payroll loan becomes almost a monthly discount. Therefore, if you have an active payroll loan, remember to calculate the value of the installments.

So, now you know how it works to calculate net salary. In fact, it is worth remembering that this value also includes additional values. In other words, not only the discounts, but also what you get extra.
