07. Hearings via videoconference
One sector that needed to reinvent itself with the coronavirus and its forced social isolation was law. It had already been slowly transforming with digital processes, but the pandemic gave the kick it needed for this shift towards online to happen once and for all.
A great example we have is about audiences. Before this health crisis, they were almost exclusively in person. Today, the story is different. Videoconferences were adopted, making it possible to personally monitor the hearings of all clients anywhere in Brazil.
However, there are caveats. The disadvantage of this model is that not all parties have access to the necessary tools. Furthermore, human contact is also lost, which makes all the difference for conciliation purposes. Still, videoconference hearings are one of the biggest trends in the post-COVID-19 world.
