28. Cambridge University – $4.2 billion
Who has never heard of CambridgeUniversity, Is not it?! Especially known to us Brazilians thanks to its famous English fluency test, the university, located in the city of Cambridge in England, is a traditional public higher education institution, being the second oldest university still in operation in the country. And when we talk about old, it really is old! To give you an idea, it was founded in 1209, which means that Cambridge University is older than Brazil itself.
The importance of Cambridge University in the world as a whole is enormous. For example, its alumni list includes physicists Isaac Newton and Stephen Hawking, naturalist Charles Darwin, economist John Maynard Keynes, philosopher and mathematician Bertrand Russell and mathematician Andrew Wiles. Impressive, right?! Therefore, it is not surprising to learn that it has an endowment valued at 4.2 billion dollars. After all, there is money for so much knowledge!
