By injecting a huge fortune into KAUST, King Abdullah's intention was to recruit the best students and teachers in the world – a goal he successfully achieved! Thus, in 2009, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology was born, with professors from places like MIT and Cornell, which we already talked about above. An interesting fact is that KAUST is the only higher education institution in the country where men and women are brought together in mixed classes.
