A University of Pennsylvania, also known as UPenn or just Penn, is a large private higher education institution founded by Benjamin Franklin and located in Philadelphia, in the state of Pennsylvania. With 12.2 billion dollars in endowments, it is one of the richest universities today.
Considered an elite university, the University of Pennsylvania is part of the powerful NCAA sports conference of eight private universities in the northeastern United States, the Ivy League. Its most popular courses are Finance, Nursing and Economics and the university's acceptance rate is just 9%, which also puts it on the list of the most competitive educational institutions in the world.
