02. Sachsenhausen
Um dos maiores símbolos dos horrores da Segunda Guerra Mundial são, sem dúvida alguma, os campos de concentração. Estes lugares eram um centro de confinamento militar, instalado em área de terreno livre e cercada por algum outro tipo de barreira, havendo permanentemente vigia para suster prisioneiros de guerra e/ou prisioneiros políticos. No entanto, eles mais foram um campo de extermínio dos “inimigos” do governo nazista do que qualquer outra coisa.
Dentre os vários campos de concentração existentes pela Europa, um dos mais famosos e mais importantes da Alemanha nazista foi o Sachsenhausen, cuja visita é imprescindível se você estiver em Berlim, capital do país. Lá, você verá de perto os horrores cometidos contra os prisioneiros, que foram cerca de 200 mil pessoas, das quais muitas morreram de fome, por doenças adquiridas, trabalhos forçados, resultados de experiências médicas ou executadas a tiros ou nas câmaras de gás. Ou seja, uma crueldade sem fim que merece a nossa atenção.
