This part may seem a bit boring, but let's try to explain the Caixa credit card revolving in a more exemplified way!

First of all, it is important to clarify a question: what is credit card revolving? Well, it is nothing more than a “bonus”, “credit” or “loan” that the Bank offers when you are unable to pay your total invoice before the due date, leaving the outstanding balance for the following month. And so, charges (fees, interest) are inserted on the outstanding balance.

It is worth mentioning that those with a revolving balance will have some options, namely: full payment of the invoice, minimum payment or payment in installments. Therefore, customers who choose to pay in installments can choose to pay in 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 or 24 months, with rates ranging from 3.30% am to 9.90% am

Maybe it got a little confusing, but with a brief example below we will show you how this Caixa credit card rotary works.

Minimum Payment

Follow how it happens in the minimum payment option:

  • In January, you have a total invoice of R$600.00 to pay. However, unforeseen events happened, and you had expenses beyond what you expected. As a result, you will not be able to pay the full amount of the invoice. The Bank gives you the possibility to make a minimum payment, corresponding to 15% of the invoice amount, that is, R$90.00. You pay 100.00 reais and in the next invoice, the remainder will be charged 500.00 reais.
  • In February, your invoice will be BRL 500.00 (January outstanding balance) + new purchases made that month (for example: BRL 100.00) + January charges (fees, interest).

payment in installments

Incredibly, yes, you can. First you must choose the number of months for the payment of your outstanding balance. The payment period can be 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 or even 24 months. The longer the term, the higher the interest. Interest varies between 3.30% and 9.90% per month.

For more information about Caixa's credit card interest rate, you should consult the rate table. Therefore, you can access it on the Caixa website.
