However, Elo was born in 2010 through a partnership between major financial institutions in Brazil: Caixa Econômica Federal, Bradesco and Banco do Brasil. The objective of this creation was to bring a totally Brazilian flag.
However, even though consumers were initially suspicious of the brand, it currently has more than 120 million cards issued, making it the third most used in Brazil, behind Mastercard and Visa.

Firstly, the Elo Básico Nacional credit card is recommended for consumers who intend to make daily purchases, taking advantage of several benefits.
However, in international coverage, the advantages are basically the same, but customers can make purchases in international establishments that accept the brand.
Therefore, if you are interested in making international purchases, the Elo Básico Internacional model meets these requirements.
What is the limit on the Elo card?
Furthermore, to apply for the Elo Básico credit card, consumers must have an income of one minimum wage.
Initially, your card limit may be low, but over time it tends to increase.
If you already have a credit card and are interested in increasing the limit, contact the issuing bank. You can find the contact details on the back of your card.
However, to get an increase, use the card limit or talk to the issuer to find out which strategies to follow.

A few years ago, having a card with the Elo brand was synonymous with frustration, as it was accepted in few establishments.
Today, the situation is completely different. In fact, Elo is the third most used card brand in Brazil. However, it is only behind Mastercard and Visa.
Even though it is a Brazilian 100% flag, it already has international coverage. Therefore, when issuing an international Elo credit card, you can use it in international establishments.
Despite being the third most used card in Brazil, many stores do not accept it. However, this happens due to disagreements between establishments and the institutions that issue the card.

Despite having these benefits, the Elo card also has some disadvantages, which are:

- Absence of some benefits.

However, the process for requesting the Elo card may be different, depending on the issuing institution. The Ourocard Elo Internacional card, for example, can be requested through the app.
Therefore, it is necessary to access the broadcasters' official website and find out about the portability process.

- Bank of Brazil: 4004 0001 (capitals and metropolitan regions) or 0800 729 0001 (other regions)
- Bradesco: 4002 0022 (capitals and metropolitan regions) or 0800 570 0022 (other regions)
- Federal Savings Bank: 4004 9009 (capitals and metropolitan regions) or 0800 940 9009 (other regions)
Finally, it is worth noting that it is not possible to request the card over the phone, only to ask questions.
