29. Map of indigenous lands
And since we're talking about the Amazon rainforest, we couldn't leave out the traditional map of indigenous lands, inhabitants of the forest. While the North region “loses” in terms of population density, it shoots ahead in relation to the number of indians existing in their areas.
According to the map above, 42.3% of the Indians live outside indigenous areas, while 12.5% of the country's total territory is occupied by them. This, by the way, is an excellent data given the current situation in which the Bolsonaro, the current president of Brazil, says that, if it depends on him, there will be no more demarcation of indigenous lands. On the other hand, the Federal Constitution states that it is up to the Union to demarcate, protect and ensure respect for indigenous property. And then, will Bolsonaro go against the articles of our CF?! Who lives will see!
