05. Map of the use of pesticides in Brazil
Since the conversation is about plantations, let's talk about the use of pesticides in Brazil? According to the Greenpeace survey based on data from the Ministry of Agriculture, the federal government approved 439 pesticides in 2019 for use on crops, which is the highest number since 2010.
In the map above, although it is a little outdated, as there were no further studies on the subject, it is possible to note which states in Brazil use the most pesticides in their plantations. In first place is Mato Grosso, followed by São Paulo, Goiás and Mato Grosso do Sul. At the end of the line is the state of Amapá, Amazonas and Acre.
