With the aim of supporting needy families and providing a better quality of life, the government created the Social Water Tariff.
Through this benefit, low-income families have access to drinking water and sewage collection for a reduced price. The discount percentage varies depending on the State, but can reach up to 60%.
Furthermore, the discount is progressive and also depends on the monthly consumption of each household.
To be part of the program, you must meet some basic requirements. Do you want to know what they are, and what to do to register? So continue reading below!
How to register for the Social Water Tariff?
Firstly, to receive the benefit, the citizen must have their registration in CadÚnico regularized.
If you do not have registration, you must provide it. Therefore, the family group must go to the nearest Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) to register.
In addition, in case of doubt, the person in charge can go to the city hall to request assistance. By the way, remember that in order to register, you must bring one of these documents:
- CPF or Voter Title for the head of the Family;
- Birth certificate;
- Wedding certificate;
- Identity card (RG);
- Workbook.
Then, simply regularize the situation directly with your city's water and sewage company.
Remembering that the Social Water Tariff is a State benefit. To do this, you must register at the location indicated by the company.
How to receive the benefit?
Basically, receiving the benefit is very simple. This is because the discount comes directly to your monthly bill.
In other words, based on your consumption, the company already calculates the discount. Therefore, the tariff works as follows:
- 40% discount for 10 cubic meters of consumption per month;
- If you consume 10 to 15 cubic meters, you will get a discount of 30% per month;
- 20% discount for 15 to 20 cubic meters of water per month.
However, in some States, these discounts can reach up to 60% of the bill value. To find out what percentage is in your region, look for the water supply company.
How to use the Social Water Tariff?
Finally, the Social Water Tariff is an important step to promote the well-being of low-income families throughout Brazil.
It is through it that it is possible to bring drinking water and correct sewage collection to areas inhabited by the needy population.
And this is not the only government benefit aimed at supporting this part of the population. Bolsa Família has provided financial assistance to millions of Brazilians since 2003.
With a monthly income of R$600, which could be even higher, the program offers the opportunity for a better life for those who need it most.
