The FIES, or Student Financing Fund, was created in 1999 and since then has expanded access to education in Brazil. This is because with the program, students have access to private universities. Therefore, the government makes a kind of loan, which can only be paid after the student's graduation. That way, the student has time to work and save the money needed to pay the loan.

In this sense, financing has two modalities that vary according to the family's income. In short, FIES is financing directly with the government. That is, full financing and lower rates. It is still possible to obtain a zero rate, in some cases

P-FIES, on the other hand, is an agreement between the federal government and Brazilian private banks. In this way, the financing is 50% and destined to students with monthly income above three minimum wages.

In addition, to participate in the FIES, you must have an income of up to three minimum wages per person. In addition, you also need to take ENEM and also have a minimum score of 450. Interested? So read on and find out how to apply for this program.

As such, FIES enrollment is similar to other government educational programs. In other words, to enroll in the program, simply access the FIES website and fill in some basic information. So, just put your family group information, such as CPF, date of birth and gross income.

After this step, you will have to choose the graduation you want to carry out the financing. At this point, remember to select the course, university and shift you are going to attend.

Finally, just wait for the registration period to end and see the results. By the way, in FIES you can see in real time the score of the last candidate. That way, you know if you really have a chance on that course. In this sense, you can change your option until the end of the registration period.

When does the FIES 2022 result come out?

The MEC (Ministry of Education) has already released the 2022 FIES calendar. Check out:

  • Registration: March 8th to 11th;
  • Earnings release: March 15;
  • Check information: March 16th to 18th;
  • Waiting list: March 16th to April 28th.

It is worth remembering that these are the dates for the FIES for the first semester. That is, the program still has the version of the second semester.

How to check the FIES result?

Finally, to check the FIES result, there are two options: either go to the program's website, or check the page of the chosen university. Remember that after your selection, you must prove your documents. That is, prove the maximum income required to obtain financing.

Therefore, FIES is just one of the many educational programs for higher education. By the way, have you heard about ProUni? This is the government program that gives full and partial scholarships to Brazilian students. Read and find out more about this program in our other article below.
