Dotz Card
In principle, the Dotz card is a credit card issued by Banco do Brasil and offers two options to customers: Visa Internacional and Visa Platinum. Both alternatives have international coverage and are linked to the Dotz loyalty program. That is, with each purchase made at a partner store, you accumulate points and can exchange them for more than 50,000 products or services available in the Dotz catalogue.
So, getting your Dotz card is very easy and can be done through the Banco do Brasil website or application, which you can find in the App Store or Google Play. By the way, you don't need to be an account holder to guarantee yours, but this way you stay out of Ourocard benefits.
Furthermore, it is important to note that both card versions charge an annual fee: R$19.00 per month for Visa International, and R$39.00 for Visa Platinum. In addition, the available limit depends on the personal credit analysis and is not available for those with restrictions in the name.
Magalu card
Surely you've heard of Magalu, haven't you? One of the largest retail stores in Brazil, it is always on the lookout for the financial market to offer its customers the best opportunities. So, it was with this objective in mind that they created the Magalu card.
Well, Magalu offers three types of cards: the Magalu Gold and the Preferencial, which have the Mastercard brand, and the Platinum, which has the Visa brand. In the Gold and Preferred options, an annual fee of R$9.99 per month is charged. With Visa Platinum, the annual fee is free.
All cards have exclusive benefits, as well as loyalty programs for the chosen brand, in addition to payment in up to 24 installments for purchases made in the store or in the Magalu app. However, the differential of Visa Platinum is that it still offers cashback of up to 2% on these purchases.
As our focus in this text is the Magalu Visa Platinum card, the application process is done through the website or the app, which you can find in the App Store or Google Play. The card is issued by Banco Itaú and the available limit depends on the credit analysis, which takes up to 48 hours.
What are the advantages of the Dotz card?
One of the most outstanding positive points of the Dotz card is that it does not require a minimum income, so if you are self-employed or cannot prove income, you can also apply.
In addition, you already get 10,000 Dotz as a gift when purchasing the card and can accumulate extra points on every purchase made at partner stores. In this way, you can exchange points for more than 50,000 products and services available in the Dotz catalogue.
What's more, you have access to a card with international coverage that is accepted in thousands of establishments around the world, and you can enjoy the benefits of Visa loyalty programs.
What are the advantages of the Magalu card?
Undoubtedly, the Magalu card offers a good list of advantages, especially if you are used to shopping with the store. So, let's get to know some of these positive points, below.
Firstly, you can pay your Magalu purchases in up to 24 installments, and if you opt for the Magalu Visa Platinum, you will also earn cashback of up to 2% of the amount spent. In addition, you get exclusive discounts at Magalu partner stores.
Furthermore, the Magalu card has an application where you can follow all financial transactions, in addition to dozens of services created to make the experience of use as pleasant as possible.
So, the card has the international Visa and Mastercard flags, and despite being a store card, it can be used in any physical or virtual establishment that accepts both flags.
What are the disadvantages of the Dotz card?
Well, we know that every credit product has advantages and disadvantages, and the Dotz card is no different.
First, the annual fee is charged for the two card options available. That is, you pay a monthly fee of R$19.00 for the Visa International card and R$39.00 for the Visa Platinum card.
Also, they are not multipurpose cards. In this way, only the credit modality is available.
What are the disadvantages of the Magalu card?
So, despite offering a good list of advantages, the Magalu card also has some negative points that should be analyzed before applying.
In this sense, the main disadvantage is to demand a minimum income from its clients. That is, if you do not reach the minimum of R$800.00, or cannot prove monthly income, the request is denied. In addition, the card is not available to those who are negative, as Magalu performs a credit analysis with the SPC/Serasa and other protection bodies.
Furthermore, despite offering the benefit of cashback with Visa Platinum, the redeemed amount can only be used in stores within the chain, and you must create a MagaluPay digital account to redeem it.
Dotz card or Magalu card: which one to choose?
Anyway, now that you already know all the positive and negative points about the Dotz card or the Magalu card, it is easier to analyze which of the two options is best for you, isn't it?
So both offer international coverage. But while the Dotz card has a loyalty program through the accumulation of points, the Magalu card offers a good payment term for purchases made in the store, in addition to discounts at various partner establishments.
Furthermore, you get rid of the annuity if you opt for the Magalu Visa Platinum, and unfortunately none of the Dotz card options offer this benefit.
However, if you are still not sure that these two cards are the best options for you, no problem! Check out the recommended content below that we have prepared for you with another comparison between two products in the same segment.
