All the benefits that Brazilians are entitled to in 2022
For years, Brazilians have received various benefits from the government that aim to improve their quality of life and allow for greater accessibility. However, economic changes in the country have caused benefits to change as well.
Therefore, some rules were changed and new benefits were created. Because of this, in this section you will learn more about them, how they work and how you can be entitled to receive them.
Brazil Aid
Auxílio Brasil is a Federal Government program that replaced the Bolsa Família Program in 2021. Today, it aims to promote social assistance in terms of income, employment, education and health for families most in need.
With it, families can access a basic income that helps with their survival and future autonomy. The value of this income can vary from R$100.00 to R$200.00 per month, and in some benefits it is possible to receive the amount in a single installment.
To do this, the program works with the following benefits that Brazilian families who are part of it are entitled to:
- Junior Scientific Initiation Scholarship: this scholarship was made for students who, during scientific and academic competitions, managed to stand out;
- School Sport: benefit aimed at students aged 12 to 17 who gained prominence in the Brazilian School Games;
- Rural Productive Inclusion: scholarship made for families where there is one or more farmers in their formation;
- Urban Productive Inclusion: benefit given to Brazilians who carry out work with a formal contract;
- Transition Compensatory Benefit: scholarship offered to families who lost money during the change from the Bolsa Família program to Auxílio Brasil. By having it, families receive the amount they should receive from Bolsa Família on a monthly basis until it is paid off.
To access these benefits, the family must be part of the program. Therefore, the families that are entitled to it are those that are in a situation of:
- Extreme poverty, where family income is up to R$105.00;
- Poverty, where family income is between R$105.01 and R$210.00;
- Rule of emancipation.
By being part of the program, the family will be able to receive benefits from the Demand Deposit Current Account, Accounting Account, Special Demand Deposit Account or Digital Social Savings.

Social Electricity Tariff
With constant increases in energy tariffs, it has become more difficult for Brazilians to pay. To help low-income families, the government offers a discount on electricity tariffs.
To access this discount, families must be registered with CadÚnico or a member who receives the Continuous Payment Benefit (BPC).
Therefore, the discount that families receive will depend on each one's energy consumption. The value varies from 10% to 16% discount, with the consumption limit being 220 kWh.
To request this benefit, you must go to your energy distributor with the account holder's ID and CPF. Subsequently, the request will undergo an evaluation and the response will arrive within 3 days.
However, anyone who receives the Continuous Payment Benefit (BPC) is automatically included in the Social Tariff.

From there, several low-income Brazilians are entitled to access the benefit and thus be able to purchase cooking gas.
The program, which is carried out by the Ministry of Citizenship, is paid by Caixa for the selected people.
To participate in the program, your family must be registered with CadÚnico or have a member registered with the Continuous Payment Benefit (BPC). In addition, you must have a monthly income equal to or less than half the minimum wage.
By accessing the program, the family can receive 50% of the national average value of a 13kg gas cylinder.

Continuous Payment Benefit (BPC)
The BPC is a government program that guarantees that people with disabilities and elderly people aged 65 and over receive a minimum wage per month.
As it is a benefit for the elderly, many Brazilians confuse it with retirement. However, when receiving the Continuous Payment Benefit, the beneficiary does not need to have contributed to the INSS and does not receive a 13th salary or death pension.
To be able to access the program, the beneficiary's family must have an income per person that does not exceed ¼ of the current minimum wage. In case of disability, the person will undergo a medical evaluation before receiving the benefit.
Furthermore, it is necessary to be in CadÚnico to be able to receive this benefit to which many Brazilians are entitled.
Pregnancy Composition Benefit (BCG)
The Pregnant Composition Benefit is a new benefit group that is included in Auxílio Brasil. From there, pregnant women will be able to receive government assistance during their pregnancy.
To receive the aid, the family must have pregnant women of any age. Thus, she will be able to receive from the government the amount of R$65.00 per month, which will be paid over a period of 9 months.
The woman receiving the aid, in addition to being registered with CadÚnico, must have a monthly income between R$100.00 and R$200.00.
If the woman becomes pregnant again, she may be accepted into the Pregnancy Composition Benefit as long as 12 months have passed since receiving the previous aid.
Childcare assistance
Daycare Assistance is a social benefit aimed at mothers who need to work and pay for their children's daycare. Through the program, they are able to receive financial assistance from their companies to pay for daycare
Here, the company the woman works for can choose between offering a place within the company for her children to stay or paying the monthly fee for a daycare center.
However, in 2022, this benefit was readjusted. Now, the amount used to pay for daycare will be taken from the FGTS. In this way, the government allows the release of an amount from the fund to pay for daycare for children up to 5 years old.
Maternity Benefit
Also known as Maternity Pay, this benefit is intended for people who need to take time off work due to:
- At the birth of a child;
- Non-criminal abortion;
- An adoption;
- Judicial custody for adoption.
From there, it is possible to receive remuneration during the period away from work. To use the benefit, it is necessary to request assistance within 5 years after one of the events listed above.
However, it is also possible to request it if you have proven a deficiency of at least 10 months contributing as an individual contributor.
To request this benefit to which Brazilians are entitled, it is necessary to follow some steps. You know all of them in the content below.
