The Cadastro Único (CadÚnico) is the government's main instrument for including families living in poverty, extreme poverty or low income in the main federal programs.

Such as, for example, the Benefit of Continuous Provision (BPC), the Social Electricity Tariff (TSEE), the Gas Allowance, the PETI Program, the Rural Activities Promotion Program, the Elderly Card and, of course, the Assistance Brazil and Emergency Aid.

Therefore, CadÚnico is a set of information about families that fit the situations mentioned above, and is used by the Federal Government, states and municipalities to implement public policies, aimed at promoting the improvement of the quality of life and well-being of the families. 

In addition to people in poverty and extreme poverty, families who earn up to half a minimum wage per capita or earn up to 3 minimum wages per capita monthly income must be enrolled in CadÚnico, to guarantee their well-being and access to basic income. .

Currently, the system has more than 33.7 million families registered, around 83.5 million people. It is through the Single Registry that over 18 million families receive assistance that guarantees their well-being and access to food, hygiene, payment of basic bills, etc.

It is ideal that every two years the family updates its enrollment in the Single Registry so that its benefit is paid correctly. But if there is any change in your family nucleus, job, address, etc.

These changes must be reported as soon as possible to the Single Registry Service Point. That way, changes are made in time to keep your registration active. However, if there is no change, you must perform the Registration Update by Confirmation.

In this case, you just confirm the data together with the employee at the service station. If there are changes or not, to update your Single Registry, look for the CRAS (Reference Center for Social Assistance) closest to you.
