20. Santo André (SP)
Located in the Greater ABC Region, 18 km from the state capital, São Paulo, the municipality of Santo André was voted the twentieth best place in Brazil to retire. Currently, the city occupies second place on the list of large cities with the highest number of retirees, with almost 15% of its population of approximately 700 thousand inhabitants.
For those who are retired, Sannto André offers several benefits to its residents. Among them, activities for seniors, such as the Miss and Mister Best Age contest, and discounts of up to 50% off property tax. To request the tax benefit, the retiree must have only one property in their name and the monthly income must not exceed R$3,852.70.
